Zoho Corporation:- An Indian multinational technology company called Zoho Corporation creates web-based business tools and computer software. It is well recognised for its web-based office suite, Zoho Office Suite. Sridhar Vembu and Tony Thomas launched the business in 1996, and it is now present in seven countries, with its corporate offices located in Del Valle, Texas, west of Austin, and its worldwide headquarters located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The corporation is mostly owned by Radha Vembu, the sister of Sridhar Vembu.

History

The business was formerly known as AdventNet, Inc. and offered network management software from 1996 to 2009. In 2001, AdventNet moved its focus to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMBs) and expanded its operations into Japan. The company’s initial Office suite product, Zoho Writer, and Zoho CRM were introduced in 2005. 2006 saw the release of Zoho Projects, Creator, Sheet, and Show. When Zoho Docs and Zoho Meeting were released in 2007, Zoho entered the collaborative arena. By August of 2008, the firm had introduced mail and invoicing applications, and by that August, it had reached one million users.

The business changed its name to Zoho Corporation in 2009 in honour of its online office suite. The business is still privately held. Zoho introduced Zoho One, a feature-rich suite of more than forty apps, in 2017. The number of apps available on Zoho One has increased to 50 as of October 2021. By November 2022, having worked with over 50,000 organisations across more than 160 countries, Zoho was operating in the following year. In January 2020, Zoho has more than 50 million users. The business declared in July 2022 that it had over 80 million users.

The annual user conference of the firm is called Zoholics India. Additional offerings include the accounting software Zoho Books, the business collaboration platform Zoho Workplace, the customer experience management tool Zoho Survey, and the HR management platform Zoho People. Zoho and Payoneer, a financial technology startup that helps businesses conduct transactions, partnered in March 2023. Additionally, in April, Zoho unveiled Trident, a brand-new platform for collaboration that facilitates cross-channel communication via email, messaging, audio/video conferencing, etc. In November 2023, Zoho announced partnership with StartupSouth to empower startups.

Locations

India’s Chennai serves as the home base for Zoho. It operates 12 offices in nine different countries as of 2021. The business has offices in Singapore and Japan in addition to operating in China. Its Chennai office handles the majority of its support activities. Additionally, Zoho maintains an office in Renigunta, Andhra Pradesh, where it has been doing business since 2018.

Up until 2019, their US headquarters were located in Pleasanton, California; in 2019, they relocated to Del Valle, Texas. The site outside of Austin that Zoho planned to build its new headquarters on was acquired in April 2019. Rather, during the COVID-19 pandemic in February 2020, they constructed an organic farm to provide food and a location for relaxation and leisure for their staff. Employees there use the facilities that are already in place. Food that is not needed is donated to the Central Texas Food Bank and other institutions.

The Estancia IT Park in Chennai is home to the research and development campus. In 2011, Zoho established an office in Tenkasi, where they developed and introduced their product, Zoho Desk. Following the COVID-19 outbreak, Zoho intended to open locations in Madurai and Theni, two rural communities in southern Tamil Nadu. Zoho established a business in New Braunfels, Texas, in February 2022. There were thirty workers at the place in July of that year.

The company’s third Texas facility, Zoho opened its doors in McAllen, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley in April 2022. The business revealed intentions to open its third African location in Lagos, Nigeria, in July 2022.
