History
1942 saw the birth of Nanu Gupta in the Indian province of Punjab. In 1954, he relocated to Bombay and began serving as an Usha electric fan distributor.
In 1967, Nanu Gupta established Vijay Sales, then known as Vijay Television Store, as a little television dealership in Mahim. The current name replaced the original one in 1981. Over time, Vijay Sales has developed into one of India’s top retail chains. Beginning in 2010, Vijay Sales included Gujarat and the National Capital Area in addition to Maharashtra. Under the moniker TMC (Tirumala Music Centre), Vijay Sales purchased a network of consumer durable retail outlets in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in 2019. Vijay Sales has now rebranded TMC as Vijay Sales.
With 33 stores in Mumbai, 14 stores in Pune, 19 stores in Gujarat, 18 stores in Delhi, 5 stores in Haryana, 4 stores in Uttar Pradesh, 8 stores in Andhra Pradesh, and 19 stores in Telangana, Vijay Sales offers over 5,000 products and is situated in prime locations throughout India [citation needed]. The retail chain that sells gadgets also wants to increase the number of its outlets from its current 121 to 200 by 2025.

Vijay Sales aims to double its sales by 2025
According to a top official, Vijay revenues wants to quadruple its revenues to between ₹8,000 and ₹10,000 crore by 2025. At present, its yearly sales amount to ₹4,000 crore. The retail chain that sells gadgets also wants to increase the number of its locations from 106 to 200 by 2025.
Pre-covid levels
Director of Vijay Sales Nilesh Gupta told BusinessLine that the firm has produced sales that are nearly same to what they were before to Covid.
Vijay Sales reported ₹4,000 crore in sales in 2019. “If the supply chain is consistent and there are no more lockdowns, we may even surpass our 2019 sales mark and generate sales to the tune of ₹4,200 crore” in this fiscal year.
There won’t be a u-turn now, according to Gupta, who stated that this was the measure of progress.
The business is optimistic that there won’t be many obstacles going forward. By 2025, Gupta stated, “We want to reach sales of at least ₹8,000 crore to ₹10,000 crore.”

Growing Market
In response to a question concerning how he planned to achieve these sales given the fierce competition from Tatas-backed Croma and Reliance Retail-backed Reliance Digital, he stated, “As competition grows, the market will grow too. We are focusing on growth, both online and offline.”
Currently, Vijay Sales operates 106 locations throughout the whole nation. “We’re going to grow to 200 stores, which will increase sales,” he said.
Online Segment
The domestic electronics retail network has always operated as a physical storefront. In accordance with the trends, the business has expanded its online division.
Gupta stated earlier this year, in an interview with BusinessLine, that the business hopes to bring in ₹200 crore in revenues from its online division this fiscal year.
He did, however, add that the firm could only be able to turn a profit of ₹120 crore this year. “Our online sales are increasing steadily, but our customers have started returning to the stores since things opened up.”
According to Gupta, the business would serve both tier 2 and metro areas equally. Although tier 2 cities are growing quickly, the firm sees more opportunity in the same city shops because these metropolises also account for the majority of its sales, including Mumbai, Delhi, and Pune.
